What is a prep academy?
A prep academy is a gap year program following completion of high school that allows athletes an extra year to grow and realize their full potential. Entering the college sports world can be an incredibly difficult experience, and allowing time to mature can ensure a smoother entry and transition to the next period of their life. The program at Athletes in Action Prep equips individuals to be largely successful both in their sport and in their life outside of it. 

What is Athletes in Action?
Athletes in Action (a Cru ministry) is one of the largest Christian sports missionary organizations in the world, with staff members in over 60 countries worldwide. In addition to the international staff, Athletes in Action has grassroots outreach efforts at over 200 colleges and universities. The worldwide headquarters for the organization is located in Xenia, Ohio, where the executive and nationwide staff work out of. 

Where do the athletes live?
The athletes live right on AIA's 200 acre headquarters in Xenia, Ohio- with 275 beds spanning 5 dormitories available at the Special Conference and Retreat Center, the organization's campus is more than capable of housing the team. 

Where/what do the athletes eat?
The athletes will have three meals provided to them daily, from Monday to Saturday. All meals will be prepared by AIA's Executive Chef and his team at the onsite kitchen, and will be served in the company cafeteria adjacent to Schindler Hall within the organization headquarters. 

Will the athletes have schoolwork?
The athletes will have the opportunity to take a limited amount of collegiate courses while at the academy, while also ensuring their NCAA and NAIA eligibility are unaffected. In addition to these courses counting towards their higher education, a mandatory Bible study and leadership curriculum is in place to ensure character, servanthood, and humility are a portion of their studies. 

Where are home games played and practices be held?
For the 2024-2025 season, home games and practices will be held at the John Wooden Family Fieldhouse (1310 John Wooden Way, Xenia, OH 45385)

What is the cost of the prep academy?
Scholarships will be offered on a limited basis relying upon the discretion of the coaching staff. All financial questions can be directed towards James Bolin, Program Director.
